A few months ago, Olly Batho (aka Bammo) started a new blog where he posts a different record each day from his record collection in an attempt to articulate his eclectic music taste. It's called Frisson (a word predominantly used to describe the experience of goosebumps or chills when listening to music) and is, he tells me, his way of documenting his never-ending search for that feeling. On the 6th February he's booked in to spin all night long at Spiritland in Kings Cross so we're chuffed to bits that he'll be delivering a "Frisson Sound" DJ set to kick off the new year's LunchtimeListens sessions at The Social. But what kind of vibe will he bring? "I'm thinking I might just focus on some of the brilliant West African highlife and upbeat Caribbean bits," he tells us. "I've been picking up some nice wax along those lines recently..."
